Follow thedescription “BRIGHT” and “COLOUR”on page 20 to try to adjust them properly.• Videotaping teletext is not recommendedbecause it may not record correctly.• When a white and bright still image (suchas a white dress) is displayed on thescreen, the white part may look as if itwere coloured. It is a phenomenonunavoidable due to the nature of thepicture tube itself, and not due to a TVfailure. When the picture disappears fromthe screen, the unnatural colours will alsodisappear.• When viewing images from commerciallyavailable video software products, orvideos from videotapes which have beenrecorded improperly, the top of the imagemay be distorted. This is due to thecondition of the video signal, and notbecause of malfunction. Poor sound• Have you adjusted BASS or TREBLEproperly? If not, follow the description“BASS” or “TREBLE” on page 23.When the TV channel reception is poor, itcan be hard to hear the stereo or bilingualsound. In this case, follow the description“STEREO / I • II” on page 23 to hear thesound more easily by changing it to a monosound. Operation disabled• Have the batteries of the remote controlbecome exhausted? Follow thedescription “Putting the batteries into theRemote control” on page 4 and replacethem with new batteries to try to solve theproblem.• Have you attempted to use the remotecontrol at the sides or rear of the TV or ata location more than seven meters apartfrom the TV location? Operate the remotecontrol in the front of your TV or alocation less than seven meters from yourTV to try to solve the problem.• When you are viewing a teletextprogramme, you cannot operate themenus. Press the b button to return theteletext programme to the ordinary TVprogramme to try operating the menus.• If the TV operation becomes disabledsuddenly, press the Main power button onthe TV and turn off the main power. Tryto press the Main power button again toturn on the main power. If the TV returnsto a normal state, it is not a failure. Other concerns• When the SLEEP TIMER functionoperates, the TV is automatically turnedoff. If the TV is turned off suddenly, try topress the # (Standby) button to turn onthe TV once again. At this time, if the TVresumes a normal state, there is noproblem.• When a WSS signal is included in thebroadcast signal or the signal from anexternal device, or when the TV isreceiving a control signal from an externaldevice, the ZOOM mode will changeautomatically. When you want to return tothe previous ZOOM mode, press thec button to choose the ZOOMmode again.
