Chapter 6 Page 131Receiving SMS messagesWhen you receive SMS messages, the New SMS Messages alert appears.Note: You can receive SMS messages even if you don’t subscribe to your wireless serviceprovider’s SMS service.In the New SMS Messages alert dialog box, you can save or respond to the first message bytapping any of the following buttons:Tips:n To view additional incoming messages, press SMS Messaging .n You can also dismiss the alert dialog box by pressing the rocker switch or the top scrollbutton.Viewing messagesSMS Messaging enables you to quickly view your incoming messages. You can also viewmessages you’ve sent and pending messages that will be sent when a signal is available.To view SMS messages:1. Press SMS Messaging repeatedly to access the message category you want to view:Inbox, Sent, or Pending.Note: The Pending category appears only when you have messages pending delivery.OK Saves the message in the SMS Messages Inbox category, dismisses thealert dialog box, and returns you to the previous application.Reply Switches to the SMS Messaging application, opens the new messagedialog box, and addresses the message to the person who sent you themessage.Call Sender Dials the number of the person who sent you the message. If the messagewas sent from an e-mail address, this option is not available.Delete Msg.
