2 Gateway ALR 7200R User’s Guide SupplementIntroductionCongratulations on your purchase of the ALR 7200R. With the arrival ofyour new system, you are probably eager to install your system and have itoperating.Installation RequirementsThe ALR 7200R system drawer is designed for an office environment andallows for floor-level entry of all cables through the opening in the bottomof the cabinet. No special peripheral cable entry kits are required. Thecabinet can be installed in a raised floor environment as well as in a solidfloor office environment.Proper planning is necessary to minimize problems during setup. Whendetermining the setup location for the system, keep in mind the size (heightand width) of stairs, elevators, hallways, and doorways.Once the cabinet is at its final destination, lower the stabilizing feet byturning them clockwise until they make a firm contact with the floor. Thestabilizing feet help prevent the cabinet from tipping or rocking when thedrawer is extended. If you are installing several cabinets together, "gang" them together byremoving the side panels between the cabinets and bolting the cabinetstogether. Removing the in-between side panels allows efficient routing ofcables between the cabinets to help maintain a common electrical ground.A kit designed to facilitate this is available from the manufacturer. If your system came configured as a tower, please refer to Chapter 2:Converting from Mini-Tower to Rack-Mount, for information on convertingyour system. If conversion is not necessary, you may skip to Chapter 3:Installation.
