70Chapter 4: Installing Componentswww.gateway.comReplacing the power supplyTo replace the power supply:1 Follow the instructions in “Preventing static electricity discharge” onpage 41.2 Follow the instructions in “Opening the server case” on page 42.3 Follow the instructions in “Installing a voltage regulator” on page 69 toremove the upper voltage regulator module.4 Disconnect the power supply cables from the system board, drives, andthe hot-swap bay’s SCSI backplane, noting their locations and orientation.(You will reconnect the cables after you install the new power supply.)5 Open the cable clips by lifting the clip release tabs.Warning The power supply in this server contains nouser-serviceable parts. Only a qualified computertechnician should service the power supply.Your server is supplied with a 3-wire AC power cord fittedwith the correct plug style for your region. If this plug doesnot match the connector on your surge protector, UPS, orwall outlet, do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.Use a surge protector, UPS, or wall outlet that isappropriate for the supplied AC power cord.
