When opening your server case, always perform thefollowing procedure.To prevent static electricity discharge:1 Turn off the server.2 Touch a bare metal surface on the back of the server.3 Unplug all power cords from AC outlets and disconnect the modem cable(if installed).Also follow these static electricity precautions: Avoid static-causing surfaces such as plastic and packing foam in yourwork area. Remove the parts from their antistatic bags or containers only when youare ready to use them. Do not lay parts on the outside of an antistaticbag or container because only the inside provides antistatic protection. Always hold cards by the edges and their metal mounting brackets. Avoidtouching components on the cards and the edge connectors that connectto expansion slots. Never slide cards or other parts over any surface.Caution Static electricity can permanently damage electroniccomponents in your server. Prevent electrostatic damageto your server by following static electricity precautionsevery time you open your server case.
