If you experienceirregular compass behavior, for example,after moving long distances or after extremetemperature changes, you can manuallycalibrate the compass.1 Select Compass > > CalibrateCompass > Start.2 Follow the on-screen instructions.Course PointerThe course pointer is most useful if you arenavigating on water or where there are nomajor obstacles in your path. It also helps youavoid hazards to either side of the course,such as shoals or submerged rocks.To enable the course pointer, from thecompass, select Setup > Heading > Go ToLine/Pointer > Course (CDI).The course pointer ➊ indicates yourrelationship to the course line leading to thedestination. The course deviation indicator(CDI) ➌ provides the indication of drift (rightor left) from the course. The scale ➋ refers tothe distance between dots ➍ on the coursedeviation indicator, which tell you how far offcourse you are.Navigating with Sight 'N GoYou can point the device at an object in thedistance, lock in the direction, and navigateto the object.1 Select Sight 'N Go.2 Point the device at an object.3 Select Lock Direction > Set Course.4 Navigate using the compass.Elevation PlotBy default, the elevation plot displays theelevation over the distance traveled. Tocustomize the elevation settings, see page33. You can touch any point on the plot toview details about that point.
