Installation ProceduresApollo CNX80 Installation Manual 560-0982-00 Rev D 2-292.8.7.9 Waypoint AnnunciationP5-66 Waypoint AnnunciateThe Waypoint annunciator functions as follows:• When the aircraft is within 10 to 20 seconds of reaching a turning point for a course change, thewaypoint annunciator flashes.• When the aircraft is in a turn, the waypoint annunciator illuminates continuously and remainsilluminated until the turn is completed.• When the turn is complete and deviation information is being provided relative to the next leg, thewaypoint annunciator will extinguish.If an external annunciator is used for waypoint annunciation, it is recommended that the waypointannunciator be labeled “WPT” in white text.2.8.7.10 Terminal Mode AnnunciationP5-67 Terminal Mode AnncThe Terminal Mode Annc output is grounded when navigating within 30 nmi of the departure or arrivalairport, or on a SID or STAR.If an external annunciator is used for terminal mode annunciation, it is recommended that the terminalmode annunciator be labeled “TERM” in green text.2.8.7.11 Altitude Alert AnnunciationP5-69 Altitude Alert AnncThe Altitude Alert Annc output is not implemented in the current version of the CNX80 (this output isalways ‘open’). In future versions, this output will be grounded when performing a WAAS GPS approachand (i) ownship WAAS altitude is too low, or (ii) the WAAS altitude is not within specification.If an external annunciator is used for altitude alert annunciation, it is recommended that the altitude alertannunciator be labeled “ALT” in amber text.2.8.8 D ISCRETE OUTPUTS2.8.8.1 ILS EnergizeP7-33 ILS EnergizeThe ILS Energize output is grounded whenever a localizer frequency is tuned on the CNX80 nav radio,regardless of which navigation source (GPS or VOR/ILS ) is currently selected to drive the CDI.
