Currently, the precisionapproach output will be active when the CNX80 nav radio is tuned to a localizer and the VOR/ILS radionavigation data is selected for display on the CDI. This output may be connected to the ILS Energize inputof an autopilot or flight director to provide higher autopilot gain when the CNX80 is operating in precisionapproach mode.2.8.8.3 Audio Message Active OutP5-70 Audio Msg Active OutThe Audio Msg Active Out is grounded whenever the CNX80 is playing an audio message or audio tone.This output is grounded 200 msec prior to playing the message / tone, and remains grounded for 200 msecfollowing completion of the message / tone.2.8.8.4 Power Control OutP7-36 Power Control OutThe Power Control Out is grounded whenever power is applied to the CNX80, and open otherwise.2.8.9 S WITCHES / D ISCRETE INPUTSNOTEInstallations in conformance with the requirements specified in this installation manual donot require the use of any external switches, since all switches are provided on the CNX80front panel.All of the switch inputs duplicate functions available on the front of the CNX80. These can be used tomake the function available remotely.2.8.9.1 CDI Select SwitchP7-8 Main CDI Select InThe Main CDI Select In is used to toggle between the display of GPS and VOR/ILS information on theCDI window and remote CDI connected to the Main CDI outputs. A momentary ground on this inputperforms the same function as pressing the CDI key on the CNX80 bezel.2.8.9.2 Com Flip-Flop SwitchP1-14 Com Flip Flop InThe Com Flip Flop In is used to toggle the active and standby Com frequencies. A momentary ground onthis input performs the same function as pressing the COM flip-flop soft key (↔) on the bezel.
