GFK-2224Q January 2017 16Chapter 2 Installation and Start-up: RX3i EmbeddedInterfaceThe RX3i CPUs with CPExxx designation (CPE305, CPE310, CPE330 and CPE400)provide an embedded Ethernetinterface for programmer communications. This chapter describes user features and provides basic installationand startup procedures for this interface.▪ Ethernet Interface Controls and Indicators▪ Module Installation▪ Connection to a 10Base T/100Base Tx Network (all CPExxx) or to a 1000Base T (CPE330 and CPE400only)▪ Pinging TCP/IP Ethernet Interfaces on the NetworkNote: CPE330 Release 8.60 provides support for EGD Class 1. PME 8.60 SIM5 is required tosupport EGD on both LAN1 and LAN2. All CPE400 releases support this feature.Note: Effective with RX3i CPE310/CPE305 Firmware Release 8.30, the CPU itself also supportsEGD3 Class 1. Prior to that firmware release, EGD was only available in the RX3i via theRX3i Ethernet Interface module (ETM001).Note: For features, installation and startup of the RX3i rack-based Ethernet module (ETM001),see Chapter 3.2.1 RX3i Embedded Ethernet Interface IndicatorsThe Ethernet port has two LED indicators, 100 and LINK. The 100 LED indicates the network data speed (10 or100 Mb/sec). This LED is lit if the network connection at that network port is 100 Mbps. The LINK LED indicates the network link status and activity. This LED is lit when the link is physically connected. It blinks when traffic is detected at that network port.Ethernet Port LEDs OperationCPE305/CPE310 Ethernet LED OperationLED LED StateOn Blinking Off Ethernet Port State100 On, Green Network data speed is 100 Mbps.Off Network data speed is 10 Mbps.LINK On, Amber The link is physically connected.Blinking, Amber Traffic is detected at the port.Off The Ethernet port is not physically connected.3 Proficy Machine Edition Release 8.50 SIM 7 is required for EGD on Embedded Ethernet interface ofCPE305/CPE310.
