To soften burned-on food,place grates in a plastic bag containing ¼-cup ofhousehold ammonia for several hours. Afterward, scrubgrates with a plastic scouring pad soaked in hot, soapywater. Rinse well and dry.When replacing the grates, be sure to locate themcorrectly on the cooktop. Grates are identified by thewords LEFT and RIGHT on their bottom surfaces. Grateshould fit securely into the cooktop.Grates will gradually lose their shine due to theircontinual exposure to high temperatures.Cleaning The Door and DrawerThe gasket is designed with a gap at the bottom toallow for proper air circulation.'RQRWUXERUFOHDQWKHGRRUJDVNHW³LWKDVDQextremely low resistance to abrasion.If you notice the gasket becoming worn, frayed ordamaged in any way or if it has become displaced onthe door, you should have it replaced.To clean the inside of the doorDo not allow excess water to run into any holes or slotsin the door.Wipe dishwashing detergent over any baked-on spatterson the glass. Use a single sided safety razor blade toclean it off. Then wipe over the glass with a soapy clothto remove any residue and dry off.The area outside the gasket can be cleaned with asoap-filled plastic scouring pad.Removable Broiler Drawer (on some models)To remove:1. When the broiler is cool, remove the grid and pan.2. Pull the broiler drawer out until it stops, then push itback in about one inch.3. Grasp the handle, lift and pull the broiler drawer out.Clean the broiler drawer with hot soapy water.To replace:Hold the broiler drawer in the raised position as you slide itpartway into the range. Then lower the drawer and push itcompletely closed.Stainless Steel Handles (on some models)The stainless steel handles (on some models) can becleaned with a commercially available stainless steelcleaner. Cleaners with oxalic acid such as Bar KeepersFriend Soft Cleanser™ will remove rust, tarnish, and smallblemishes. Use only a liquid cleanser free of grit and rub inthe direction of the brush lines with a damp soft sponge. Donot use appliance wax or polish on the stainless steel.Do not wipe the handle with a soiled dish cloth or wet towel.Do not use scouring pads, powdered cleaners, bleach orcleaners containing bleach because these products canscratch and weaken the finish.
