10Installing the PhoneChoose the best location to install your base and handset charge cradles. Your baseand handset charge cradles should be placed on a level surface such as a desk ortable top, or you may mount the base on a wall.Connecting the AC (Electrical) Power1. On the base, plug the power adaptor cord into the power jack on the back of thebase and the other into an electrical outlet.CAUTION: To reduce risk of personal injury, fire, or damageuse only the 5-2760 power adaptor listed in the user’s guide.This power adaptor is intended to be correctly orientated in avertical or floor mount position.. Plug the handset charge cradle into an electrical outlet.NOTE: The charge indicator on the handset charge cradle turns onto indicate the handset battery is chargingConnecting the Telephone LineOn the base, plug one end of the straight telephone line cord into the jack on the backof the base and the other end into a modular wall telephone jack.NOTE: If desired, gather the extra telephone line and poweradaptor cord together and store inside the pedestal bracket.
