Chapter 7 MAINTENANCEOnly trained personnel must perform the following:1. Vacuum all ventilation passageways on the control unit and peripherals. Ensure thatthese passageways are open and free of dust and other debris that could restrictairflow.2. Check the CPU chassis fan and PSU fan for proper operation annually. See BIOSsettings for typical fan speeds. If fan speed is approaching the low end, the fan shouldbe replaced. Fan speeds can be found under 'Clock and Sensor' for the A motherboardand under 'Hardware Health Configuration'' for the M motherboard.3. Replace lead acid batteries every three years.4. If the model DT50/DT50II has the MICR option, check the function of, and clean, theMICR annually.7.1. Power ON and OFF SequenceThis section presents the general procedures for powering ON and powering OFF theTeamPoS 2000 control unit. The instructions in this section assume that the terminal,operating system, and the application software have been installed. Be sure to observe allESD precautions and power off procedures.Caution: With the exception of USB peripherals, never disconnect orconnect a peripheral while power is on its port. To avoid damageto the control unit and peripherals, when connecting anddisconnecting peripherals from the Retail I/O or TeamCOMBOBoards, turn power OFF with the ports OFF switch (see section 1.2),the TeamPoS 2000 power switch in the front of the unit or bydisconnecting AC power.
