68 VideoAudio Recording LevelYou can adjust the audio recording level of the built-in or an externalmicrophone. You can display the audio level indicator while recording.Manual Adjustment of the Audio Recording Level1 Open ( ) the joystick guide.2 Select ( ) [ Mic. Level] and press .• The manual adjustment icon willappear to the left of the audio levelindicator and the manual adjustment bar(orange) will appear below it.• Press to return the camcorder toautomatic audio recording levels.3 Adjust ( ) the audio level asnecessary.As a guideline, adjust the audiorecording level so that the audio levelmeter will go to the right of the-12 dB mark (yellow area) onlyoccasionally.4 Hide ( ) the joystick guide.• The audio level selected will be locked and the audio leveladjustment bar will turn white.• Press twice to return the camcorder to automatic adjustment ofthe audio recording level.To display the audio level indicatorUsually, the audio level indicator will be displayed only after activatingthe manual adjustment of the audio recording level.
