Video  55Advanced FunctionsShooting Video in y Manual ModeWhen the mode switch is set to y (Manual mode), you can enjoy fullaccess to the menus and manually adjust the exposure, focus, whitebalance and many more of the camcorder's settings to your prefer-ence. Even in mode, though, the camcorder can help you withthe settings. For example, by using Special Scene recording programs(0 57).1 Set the mode switch to y.2 Turn on the camcorder.b By default, movies arerecorded in the built-in memory. Youcan select the memory that will beused to record movies (0 35).3 Press g to beginrecording.Press g again to pause therecording.IMPORTANT• Observe the following precautions while the ACCESS indicator is on orflashing. Failing to do so may result in permanent data loss or damageto the memory.- Do not open the memory card slot cover.- Do not disconnect the power source or turn off the camcorder.- Do not change the camcorder’s operating mode.• Be sure to save your recordings regularly (0 121), especially aftermaking important recordings.
