When the systemdetects a vehicle in the side blindzone, the SBZA display will light upin the corresponding outside sidemirror.The system can be disabled throughthe Driver Information Center (DIC).If the message SIDE BLIND ZONESYSTEM UNAVAILABLE appearson the DIC, the system has beendisabled because the sensor isblocked and cannot detect vehiclesin the blind zone. The sensor maybe blocked by mud, dirt, snow, ice,slush, or even heavy rainstorms.This message may also activateduring heavy rain or due to roadspray.
