While pressing the acceleratorpedal or shortly following the releaseto override cruise control, brieflyapplying the SET– switch will result incruise control set to the currentvehicle speed.Using Cruise Control on HillsHow well the cruise control will workon hills depends upon the vehiclespeed, load, and the steepness of thehills. When going up steep hills, youmight have to step on the acceleratorpedal to maintain the vehicle speed.When going downhill, the cruisecontrol system may automaticallybrake to slow the vehicle down (CTSmodel only). Also, you may have tobrake or shift to a lower gear to keepthe vehicle speed down. If the brakepedal is applied, cruise controldisengages.
