VARThis key lets you play Diskus at a variable speed, as set with thenumeric keypad or the Control Knob. Pressing VAR by itself doesnot play Diskus; press VAR to arm variable play mode. Press aPLAY key to play Diskus at the set variable playback speed.NOTE: This is totally separate from the "default"speed set in the Defaults menu in the GUI. If youpress the GUI Play button in the GUI TransportWindow, Diskus plays at the speed set in theDefaults menu.FRAMEThis key operates in the same way as the Frame Mode key in theGUI Defaults menu. Diskus can play back a full frame or a fieldof video. A lit LED in the FRAME key indicates that the framemode is active.FRAME MODE (LED ON): Diskus uses both fields of off diskvideo to output the complete frame.FIELD MODE (LED OFF): Diskus uses a field of off disk videoand creates a frame of video from the single field. The method ofcreating the frame is determined by the interpolator setting in thedefaults menu.There are three different frame modes. Select the mode as follows:STEP 1: Press 1,3, then MENU. This selects the Defaults menu. Thethird line item is frame mode. The default selection appearsin parentheses if FRAME (key LED) is off.STEP 2: Toggle FRAME, AUTO (Auto frame), and FILM (525 only)mode by pressing the ENTER key.
