If the results are unacceptable, repeat the run. If the results are stillunacceptable, obtain a new tube of control, be sure that it iswarmed and mixed properly and again repeat the run. If the resultsare still unacceptable, run the other levels of control material. If theresults on all levels are unacceptable, troubleshoot accordingly asdirected in the Troubleshooting Guide.17. When the control results are acceptable, patient samples may beanalyzed.Running SamplesOpen Mode AnalysisThe Open Sampler Mode aspirates the sample from an opened collectiontube. OPEN SAMPLER is displayed in the upper right corner of theData Station RUN Screen when this mode is selected. The open sampleaspiration probe is available only when this mode is selected.Open Mode Procedure1. If necessary, from the RUN Screen press [CHANGE SAMPLER]to select the Open mode.2. Be sure that the word “Ready” is illuminated on the Analyzer statusindicator panel and READY is displayed in the Status Box on theData Station RUN Screen.WARNING: Potential Biohazard. Follow establishedbiosafety practices when performing maintenance, service ortroubleshooting procedures. Wear gloves, lab coat, and suitableeye protection. Refer to Chapter 8, Precautions, Limitations andHazards, for additional information.3. Open the sample tube and immerse the open sample aspirationprobe in the well-mixed sample.4. Press the touch plate located behind the probe to start the cycle.The word “Busy” on the Analyzer status indicator panel isilluminated in yellow. The Status Box on the RUN Screen displaysmessages to indicate the various stages of the cycle.5. Remove the tube when the beep sounds. The probe moves upthrough the wash block to clean it.
