NEXT ID This field is used to enter the ID number for thenext sample to be run. (Up to 12 characters may beentered.) If the Auto Increment feature is active,AUTO is highlighted at the end of the field. Refer tothe discussion in the Sample Identification sectionof the Sample Analysis section in Chapter 5 formore information about this feature.2. PATIENT This field is used to enter the patient’s name oridentification. (Up to 16 or characters may beentered.)NOTE: If "patient" is not the selected specimen type, then adifferent data entry field appears on line 2.• "Res RBC" replaces "PATIENT" when Resistant RBC isselected.• "QC Filename" replaces "PATIENT" when QC Specimen isselected. The number of runs in the QC file and total filespace are displayed to the right of the type as in thefollowing example: 31/120.• "Background" replaces "PATIENT" when Background isselected.• "ELEC BKGND" replaces "PATIENT" when ElectricalBackground is selected.3. SEX (M/F): These fields are used to enter the sex andDOB: --/--/-- birth date of the patient.4. Dr. This field is used to enter the name of thepatient’s physician. (Up to 22 characters may beentered.)XB: If the XB analysis is enabled, the XB file status isdisplayed to the right of the entry field.5. PARAM:/ These fields display the number (1–4) of theLIMITS: Parameter and Limit sets that will be appliedto the sample results.NOTE: The Parameter and Limit sets applied to the samplemay be changed after the sample has been run. Refer to thedescription of the Data Log [EDIT SPECIMEN] key given in the“Using the Data Log” section of this chapter.
