Multi-Company Variant16416. Multi-Company VariantCommunications systems are frequently shared by several companies. These com-panies want to jointly use the existing infrastructure (e.g. the existing lines and fea-tures of the system), while at the same time they wish to organise and pay for theircommunication completely independently of one another. This “multi-company variant” can be implemented using the OpenCom 510 withina shared office, for example. In the multi-company variant, the companies are essentially completely inde-pendent of one another. This allows them to have their own trunk lines, which isuseful for billing purposes. The OpenCom 510 hardware and software are usedequally by all the companies, however. It is possible to configure theOpenCom 510 for each company and define the extent to which the features ofthe system may be used.In brief, the features of the multi-company variant are as follows:■ Up to five companies can be configured at the same time.■ Every user of the OpenCom 510 is assigned to a company.■ Each available trunk group or SIP account is uniquely assigned to a company sothat incoming external calls can be transferred to the correct internal sub-scriber.■ For each company, every route can have its own code. For example, it is pos-sible to activate different routes with the code “0” for different companies. Thisenables separate charging for outgoing external calls, for example.■ An individual exchange (“operator”) can be set up for each company.■ Each company can maintain the communication data of its business partnersin its own company telephone book.■ The charges can be billed individually for each company.
