The 4101SNfeatures the following:• Form C relay contacts rated at 2A, 28VAC/VDCwith contact supervision. The position of the relay is supervised, but notthe actual external contact wiring.• One class B/style B EOLR-supervised auxiliaryinput zone.• Operating power and communication with controlpanels via the V-Plex polling loop.• Electronics mounted in a small plastic case withtamper-protected cover.Connect the device to the polling loop, terminals 24 (+)and 25 (-). Be sure to observe polarityInstalling the 4300 TransformerPowerline Carrier devices are controlled by signals sentthrough the premises’ electrical wiring via a 4300transformer. If you are using Powerline Carrierdevices, a 4300 transformer must be used in place ofthe regular system transformer.Powerline Carrier devices respond to “on” and “off”commands sent from the panel through the 4300transformer.Powerline Carrier devices (such as X-10, ACT, Leviton)are either plugged into standard AC outlets or wiredinto the AC electrical system by a licensed electrician, depending on the type of device used.Note each device’s House and Unit Codesetup, as these codes will be used to programthe devices inOutput Programming in#93Menu Mode described in theProgrammingGuide. To connect the 4300 transformer, see Connecting theTransformer, later in this section.Installing the Ground Start ModuleUL The Ground Start Module is not intended foruse in UL Listed applications.Output 1 may be used to trigger an optional 675Ground Start Module for installations having telephonelines that require ground start instead of loop startoperation to obtain a dial tone from the telco centraloffice. When the panel has a message to transmit to thecentral station, it seizes the line, goes off hook, andthen triggers the 675 Module to connect the RING sideof the telephone line to earth ground. The panel causesthe module to break the connection between RING andearth ground when it obtains a dial tone.To install the 675 Ground Start Module, perform thefollowing steps:Step Action1 Determine which side of the telephone lineis the RING side by connecting the (+) leadof a DC voltmeter to earth ground, and the(-) lead to one side of the telephone line. The wire that reads + 50VDC is theRING side.2 Connect the 675 Ground Start Module tothe panel’s J7 connector trigger output 1, toauxiliary power, and to the RING side ofthe telephone line as shown in Figure 3-24.3 Program field 1✳46 Auxiliary OutputEnable with a [0].
