Control Panel Messages5-4 v System Administrator GuideControl Panel MessagesListed in Table 5.1 are Control Panel messages that either:• Cause the printer to stop printing.• Require you to call for service.Also included in Table 5.1 are common, non-errormessages you are likely to see. The messages are listed inalphabetical order.Table 5.1 Control Panel MessagesMessage Explanation/Corrective ActionClear Paper Path Part of a sequence of messages following an initial paper jam message.Remove any jammed paper from the exposed paper path, close covers,then refer back to the Control Panel for further messages.Close Front Cvr The front cover is open. Close it to resume printing.Close Rear Cvr The rear cover is open. Close it to resume printing.Disk ErrorFormat DiskDisplayed when a Hard Disk error is found. Reformat the disk as per theinstructions for “Disk Format” (page 1-109). If the problem persists,contact your service provider.Disk Full When the hard disk is full as a result of a secure or proof job spooling, thejob is canceled and deleted after printing the first copy of the partial job.Download FailedPlease RebootThe downloading process has failed and the printer must be rebooted torecover.Download PassedPlease RebootThe downloading process has passed and the printer must be rebooted forchanges to take effect.DownloadingPlease WaitThe printer is in downloading mode.
