186CVTronicCVTronic is an autom atic transmission withthe following facilities:z Continuously va riabl e autom atic m od e,z Out of c ontinuousl y vari able a utomat icmode,z Manual m ode.In continuously variable automatic modethe transm ission ra tio is continuouslyvariable. The engine speed is in theop tim um torque range. Moving theselector lever from N to D puts thetra nsmission into this m od e.When op erating out of continuouslyvariable autom atic mode, the CVTronicelectronically simulates the shifting of aconv entional autom atic transmission w ithdefined gears. This mode is selected bymoving the selec tor lever from D to the left.Gears can be selected manually in manualmode. H ig her or lower tra nsmission ratiosare manually selected by moving theselector lever from D to the left andtapping towa rd + or -.After starting the engine, op erate brakebefore selecting a mode. I f a mode isselected and the b ra ke is released, thevehicle " creeps" . Never operate theacc elerator and brake ped alssimultaneously.Disregard of these instructions ma y leadto injuries or endanger life.
