After cleaning, remove plugs and drain anyoil out of the motor.2. Straighten tabs on tab washer to allow removal of nutfrom motor shaft. Remove tab washer, spider hub andwoodruff key from motor.3. Use a marker to make a diagonal mark across thefront flange, body and rear cover for assembly purposes(Fig. 92).IMPORTANT: Prevent damage when clamping thedeck motor into a vise; clamp on the front flangeonly. Also, use a vise with soft jaws.4. Clamp front flange of motor in a vise equipped withsoft jaws with the shaft end down.5. Loosen cap screws that secure the rear cover.6. Take motor from the vise and remove cap screws.7. Remove front flange from the body, then remove rearcover. Locate and remove dowel pins from body.Figure 92DIAGONALMARK
