To hold roller shaft for bearing lock nut removal,install a 3/8--24 UNF 2B screw into threaded end of rollershaft and secure screw in place with jam nut. While re-taining shaft, remove bearing lock nut from each end ofroller shaft.2. Remove V--ring from each end of roller.3. Carefully inspect seating surface and threads ofbearing lock nuts. Replace lock nut if any damage isfound.4. Loosely secure roller assembly in bench vise andlightly tap one end of roller shaft until seal and bearingare removed from roller cavity. Remove second seal andbearing from roller cavity by tapping on shaft.5. Clean bearing cavity in roller and remove any rustwith crocus cloth.Assembly1. Place roller shaft into roller.NOTE: If bearing lock nuts are being replaced, useoriginal lock nuts for assembly purposes, if possible.This will preserve the patch lock feature in the new locknuts.
