Greensmaster 3250--D Page 5 -- 23 Electrical SystemGlow RelayWhen energized by the glow plug controller, the glowrelay allows electrical current to the engine glow plugs. The glow relay is attached to a frame bracket near thefuse block (Fig. 27) and is connected to the wire harnesswith a four (4) wire connector (Fig. 28).Relay Testing1. Disconnect wire harness connector from glow relay.2. To allow easier access to relay terminals, either loos-en fasteners that secure relay to bracket or remove relayfrom bracket.3. Verify coil resistance between terminals 86 and 85with a multimeter (ohms setting). Resistance should befrom 41 to 51 ohms.4. Connect multimeter (ohms setting) leads to relay ter-minals 30 and 87. Ground terminal 86 and apply +12VDC to terminal 85. The relay should make and breakcontinuity between terminals 30 and 87 as 12 VDC is ap-plied and removed from terminal 85.5. When testing is complete, disconnect voltage andmultimeter leads from relay terminals.6. Replace glow relay if testing determines that it isfaulty.7. Connect wire harness connector to glow relay.8. Secure glow relay to bracket.Figure 271. Fuse block2. Cap screw3. Glow relay4. Lock nut1234Figure 2886 8785 3085 868730ElectricalSystem
