English14Before connecting● Before connecting cables, carefully read the operatinginstructions for the external device to be connected.● Turn off the power of all devices before connectingcables.● Take note of the following points before connectingthe cables. Failure to do so may result inmalfunctions.• When connecting a cable to the unit or a deviceconnected to the unit itself, touch any nearbymetallic objects to eliminate static electricity fromyour body before performing work.• Do not use unnecessarily long cables to connecta device to the unit or to the unit body. Thelonger the cable, the more susceptible to noise itbecomes. Since using a cable while it is woundmakes it act like an antenna, it is more susceptibleto noise.• When connecting cables, connect GND first, theninsert the connecting terminal of the connectingdevice in a straight manner.● Acquire any connection cable necessary to connectthe external device to the system that is neithersupplied with the device nor available as an op ion.● If the outer shape of the plug of a connection cable islarge, it may come in contact with the periphery suchas a back cover or the plug of an adjacent connectioncable. Use a connection cable with the suitable plugsize for the terminal alignment.● If video signals from video equipment contain toomuch jitter, the images on the screen may wobble.In this case, a time base corrector (TBC) must beconnected.● When the sync signals output form PC or videoequipment are disturbed, for example, when changingsettings of video output, the colour of the video maybe disturbed temporarily.● The unit accepts Composite video signals, YC B C R /YPBPR signals, analogue RGB signals and digitalsignals.● Some PC models are not compatible with the unit.● Use cable compensator when you connect devices tothe unit using long cables. Otherwise the image maynot display properly.● Refer to “Preset Signals” (see page 92) for the typesof video signals that can be used with the unit.10 DIGITAL LINK /LAN:DIGITAL LINK Input Terminal(LF80 series only)Control the Display by connectingto Network.Alternatively, connect to a devicethat sends video and audiosignals via the DIGITAL LINKterminal.(See page 68, 69)11 IR IN, IR OUT: Infrared Signal Input / OutputTerminalUse this when operating morethan one display with one remotecontrol.(see page 21)12 SERIAL IN,SERIAL OUT:SERIAL Input / Output TerminalControl the Display by connectingto PC.(see page 19)
