13Precautions for installationThis product is designed to be installedunder eaves.Install the product under eaves to avoid directsunlight.Installing placeContact your dealer for assistance if you areunsure of an appropriate place in your particu-lar environment.• Make sure that the installation area isstrong enough to hold this product, suchas a concrete ceiling.• Install the camera in the foundation area ofthe architecture or where sufficient strengthis assured.• If a ceiling board such as plaster board istoo weak to support the total weight, thearea shall be sufficiently reinforced.Do not place this product in the followingplaces:• Locations where a chemical agent is usedsuch as a swimming pool• Locations subject to moisture or oil smokesuch as a kitchen• Locations that have a specific environmentthat is subject to an inflammable atmo-sphere or solvents• Locations where a radiation, an X-ray, astrong radio wave or a strong magneticfield is generated• Locations where corrosive gas is pro-duced, locations where it may be damagedby briny air such as seashores• Locations where the temperature is notwithin the specified range (page 42).• Locations subject to vibrations (This prod-uct is not designed for on-vehicle use.)Do not install this product in a humid ordust-laden environment.Otherwise, lifetime of the internal parts may beshortened.Be sure to remove this product if it is notin use.Design and engineer the power supplysystem to turn on/off the power of thisproduct.The product has no power switch. Wheninstalling the product, use a power supplydevice equipped with the ON-OFF switch forservicing.About the network connectionWhen connecting to a network using the net-work cable of this product, observe the follow-ing.• When wiring for the network, design andengineer not to be affected by thunder.• It is impossible to install this product incombination with a pan/tilt head.Screw tightening• The screws and bolts must be tightenedwith an appropriate tightening torqueaccording to the material and strength ofthe installation area.• Do not use an impact driver. Use of animpact driver may damage the screws orcause tightening excessively.• Tighten screws at a right angle to the sur-face. After tightening screws, perform visu-al check to ensure tightening is so suffi-cient that there is no backlash.Procure fixing screws separately.The screws that secure this product are notsupplied. Prepare them according to the mate-rial and strength of the area where the productis to be installed.Panasonic assumes no responsibility for injuries or property damage resulting from fail-ures arising out of improper installation or operation inconsistent with this documenta-tion.
