Precautions for installationPanasonic assumes no responsibility for injuries orproperty damage resulting from failures arising outof improper installation or operation inconsistentwith this documentation.Power supply• This product has no power switch. Use a power sup-ply device equipped with the ON-OFF switch for ser-vicing. When the power cable of the product is con-nected to the power supply device, the power will besupplied to the product. When the product is sup-plied, the product will perform panning, tilting, zoom-ing and focusing.Before cleaning the product, make sure that thepower cable is not connected to the main power sup-ply.Installation area for this productSelect an appropriate place for the installation area (suchas a strong wall or ceiling) in your particular environment.Mounting method for this product• This product is designed to be used as a pendantmount camera. If the product is mounted on a desk-top or at a slant, it may not work correctly or its life-time may be shorten.• Mount the product horizontally so that the dome sec-tion faces downward.• Be sure to remove this product if it is not in use.Ceiling pendant type mount bracket/Wall mountbracket• When pendant-mounting on a ceiling on a bracketthat is locally procured, use the attachement pipe.• When installing on a wall, use Wall Mount BracketWV-Q122 (option). When this product and cameramount bracket are mounted on a ceiling or a wall, usethe screws described in the following table. If theproduct is unavoidably mounted on such a section,the section shall be sufficiently reinforced.Do not place this product in the following places:• Locations where a chemical agent is used such as aswimming pool• Locations subject to humidity, dust, steam and oilsmoke• Locations where a radiation, an X-ray, a strong radiowave or a strong magnetic field is generated• Locations where corrosive gas is produced, locationswhere it may be damaged by briny air such as sea-shores• Locations where the temperature is not within –40 °Cto +50 °C {–40 °F to 122 °F} (24 V AC) or –30 °C to+50 °C {–22 °F to 122 °F} (PoE+)• Locations subject to vibrations (This product is notdesigned for on-vehicle use.)• Locations subject to condensation as the result ofsevere changes in temperature (In case of installingthe product in such locations, the dome cover maybecome foggy or condensation may be caused onthe cover.)Screw tightening• The screws and bolts must be tightened with anappropriate tightening torque according to the materi-al and strength of the installation area.• Do not use an impact driver. Use of an impact drivermay damage the screws or cause tightening exces-sively.• When a screw is tightened, make the screw at a rightangle to the surface. After tightening the screws orbolts, perform visual check to ensure tightening isenough and there is no backlash.12
