13Precautions for installationAll work related to the installation of this productshould be made by qualified service personnel orsystem installers.Power switch• This product does not have a power switch. Whenmaking the power supply work, create a procedureto turn on/off the power of the camera. The powerwill be turned on when the power plug is insertedto an outlet. When the power is turned on, the cam-era will automatically pan/tilt/adjust focus as thestartup operation.When cleaning this product, unplug first.• A grounding connection must be made before con-necting the power cable to the main power supply.When disconnecting the grounding wire, makesure that the power cable of this product is discon-nected from the main power supply.Cautions for installationMake sure that the installation area is strong enough tohold the camera, such as a concrete ceiling.• This product is designed to be used as a pendantmount camera. When using after installing it tiltedor on desktop, it may not work correctly or its life-time may be shorten.• This product should be installed with making thecamera level. (The dome part should be down-ward.)• Be sure to remove this product if it is not in use.Procure fixing screws locally.Fixing screws to be used to fix this product are not pro-vided.Prepare them after considering the total weight, thematerial and strength of the area where the camera is tobe installed.When tightening fixing screwsFirmly tighten screws/bolts that are suited to fix with thematerial and strength of the area where the camera is tobe installed. After tightening screws/bolts, check witheyes if the camera is fixed firmly.Avoid installing in the following locations.• Locations where a chemical agent is used such asa swimming pool• Locations subject to steam and oil smoke such asa kitchen• Locations near flammable gas or vapor• Locations where radiation or x-ray emissions areproduced• Locations where it may be damaged by briny airsuch as seashores• Locations where corrosive gas is produced• Locations where the temperature is not between–40 °C - +50 °C {–40 °F - 122 °F}.• Locations subject to vibrations (This product is notdesigned for on-vehicle use.)• Locations subject to condensation as the result ofsevere changes in temperature (The dome covermay be fogged or condensation may be formed.)Remove the cover film from the transparent part ofthe dome cover after the installation is complete.When the exogenous noise can affect the productperformanceWhen wiring, make sure that the cables of this productare at least 1 meter away from power cables of 100 V ormore such as a cable of electric light, or install cableplumbing system with metal pipes to separate cables toprevent noise affect. (Metal pipes should be grounded.)Radio disturbanceWhen this product is used near a TV/radio antenna, or astrong electric field or magnetic field (such as near amotor, a transformer or a electrical power line), imagesmay be distorted and noise may be caused.Install this product when humidity is lowWhen installing this product while humidity is high,inside of the dome cover may be fogged.About the anti-freeze heaterThe antifreeze heater is featured for use in a coldregion. The antifreeze heater will automatically beturned on when the internal temperature is 10 °C orbelow. However, the antifreeze heater may not workeffectively when using this product under severe cir-cumstances such where temperature is at –40 °C{–40 °F}. When using this product in a cold region, trynot to use this product under severe circumstanceswhere temperature can be lower than –40 °C {–40 °F}.Image quality disturbanceA wiper is not featured in this product. Image may benot displayed or image quality may become low underthe following circumstances.(1) When rainingWhen raining and winding, it may be possible thatimages become unclear due to adhesion of rain-drops to the dome cover.(2) When snowingWhen snowing and winding, it may be possible thatimages become unclear due to adhesion of snowto the dome cover.(3) When the concentration of dust/smog in the air isrelatively highWhen the concentration of dust/smog in the air isrelatively high, it may be possible that imagesbecome unclear due to adhesion of dust/dirt to thedome cover.
