13Before start the installation/connection,prepare the required devices and cables.Before starting the connection, turn thepower of the devices including this productand the PC off.Warning: Refer installation work to thedealer. Failure to observe this maycause fire, electric shock, injury, ordamage to the product.The product is designed to be installedunder eaves.Do not install this product in locations subjectto direct sunlight.Installing placeContact your dealer for assistance if you areunsure of an appropriate place in your partic-ular environment.• Make sure that the installation area isstrong enough to hold this product, suchas a concrete ceiling.• Install the camera in the foundation areaof the architecture or where sufficientstrength is assured.• If a ceiling board such as plaster boardis too weak to support the total weight,the area shall be sufficiently reinforced.Avoid installing in the following locations.• Locations where a chemical agent isused such as a swimming pool• Locations subject to steam and oil smokesuch as a kitchen, Locations near flam-mable gas or vapor• Locations where radiation or x-ray emis-sions are produced, Locations subject tostrong magnetic field or radio waves• Locations where corrosive gas is pro-duced, Locations where it may be dam-aged by briny air such as seashores• Locations where the temperature is notwithin –30 °C - +50 °C.• Locations subject to vibrations (Thisproduct is not designed for on-vehicleuse.)• If a ceiling board is too weak to supportthe total weight, the area shall be suffi-ciently reinforced.Do not install this product in a humid ordust-laden environment.Otherwise, lifetime of the internal parts maybe shortened.Be sure to remove this product if it is notin use.Design and engineer the power supplysystem to turn on/off the power of thecamera since this product does not havethe power switch.About the network connectionWhen connecting to a network using the net-work cable of this product, observe the fol-lowing.• When wiring for the network, design andengineer to not to be affected by thun-der.• It is impossible to install this product incombination with a pan/tilt head.Screw tightening• The screws and bolts must be tightenedwith an appropriate tightening torqueaccording to the material and strength ofthe installation area.• Do not use an impact driver. Use of animpact driver may damage the screws orcause tightening excessively.• When a screw is tightened, make thescrew at a right angle to the surface.• After tightening the screws or bolts, per-form visual check to ensure tightening isenough and there is no backlash.Precautions for Installation
