94Chapter 4 Fax ReceptionConvenient Reception FeaturesThis machine supports certain convenient-to-use reception features. Program these features asrequired.Selective ReceptionYour machine has the Selective Reception function which can prevent receiving unnecessarydocuments (junk fax and direct mail, etc.).Before receiving the document, the last 4 digits of the ID number received from the sending machinewill be compared with the last 4 digits of the telephone number programmed in the Address Book ofeach station. When a match is found, your machine will start receiving the document. If a match is notfound, your machine will cancel the reception.zThe standard setting of the Function Parameter “46 Select Receive” (Fax/Email Settings > Fax Parameters) isset to “Invalid”. For instructions on how to enable the Selective Reception feature, refer to Fax/Email Settingsin the Operating Instructions (For Function Parameters) of provided CD-ROM.zThis feature requires the registration of all possible sending stations in the Address Book. Refer to Adding aFax Number into the Address Book (see page 177).zSelective reception will not work if the fax number is not set in the sender’s numeric ID, or the sender’s numericID is not programmed at all.
