The choice affects the calculated Range andEconomy (see section 17-5 Speed source).If the Explorer uses a paddlewheel sensorto measure speed, then the speed must beaccurately calibrated (to calibrate the Explorerpaddlewheel, see section 17-11).ConsumptionThe fuel used per unit of distance travelled. Thesmaller this number, the better the fuel economy.Adjust the throttle and trim to achieve the lowestconsumption.EconomyEconomy is the distance travelled per unit of fuelused. The Explorer calculates this from the boatspeed and fuel used. The bigger this number, thebetter the fuel economyRangeThe estimated boat range at the currentfuel flow.
