5-14 Procedures after Completion of InstallationSetting up PCs on a NetworkIf you have computers running on Windows Server 2003, Windows XP/2000/NT4.0, Windows95/98 that communicate with NEC Express5800/ft series using the TCP/IP protocol, make thefollowing settings on all computers.1. Copy the following in the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM or ft control software,UPDATE CD-ROM to any directory.\STRATUS\LANG\EN\PROG\FTREG.EXETIPS: ft Update CD is for updating ft control software. It may not be attached to theproduct. If software included in the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM is latest atthe time of shipment, the ft Update CD is not attached.2. Start up the command prompt and enter the directory in which the file mentioned above iscopied, and then enter the following command.FTREG.EXEThis setting is to avoid a timeout caused by non-communication state between the NECExpress5800/ft series and computers connected by the LAN protocol that may occur immediatelyafter the NEC Express5800/ft series startup or a CPU module reinstallation (dual processing).Non-communication time immediately after the NEC Express5800/ft series startup or modulereinstallation in the system where Windows Server 2003 runs is proportional to the size of memorymounted and how much applications running use memory.Because minimum non-communication time is momentary regardless of size of the memoryinstalled, it will not be considered as non-communication. Maximum non-communication time bythe memory size is as follows:Memory size Non-communication time256MB About 3.1 seconds512MB About 6.2 seconds1GB About 12.3 seconds2GB About 24.7 seconds3GB About 36.3 seconds6GB About 47.0 secondsThis setup program sets the following Windows registry: Windows XP/Windows NT/Windows 2000/Windows Server 2003:Registry key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\ParametersValues: TcpMaxConnectRetransmissionsType: REG_DWORDSet value: 5Values: TcpMaxDataRetransmissionsType: REG_DWORDSet value: 8Values: TcpMaxConnectREsponseRetransmissions
