Section 3 Ice Machine OperationPart Number 80-1214-3 3-3Operational ChecksGENERALManitowoc ice machines are factory-operated andadjusted before shipment. Normally, a newly installed icemachine does not require any adjustment.To ensure proper operation, always follow theOperational Checks:• when starting the ice machine for the first time• after a prolonged out of service period• after cleaning and sanitizingNOTE: Routine adjustments and maintenanceprocedures outlined in this manual are not covered bythe warranty.WATER LEVEL CHECKThe float valve maintains the correct water level. Thewater level must allow the water level probes to maintainwater contact throughout the freeze cycle. The waterlevel is factory set and normally will not requireadjustment. Check the water level during the freezecycle. The water level is correct if the water levelindicator light is energized (compressor is running) andno water is entering the overflow tube. (Check foroverflow water exiting the ice machine drain line at thefloor drain).If adjustments are necessary:A. Rotate float clockwise to increase water levelB. Rotate float counterclockwise to decrease waterlevelC.
