Refer toPriming Your Spa, pg. 15, for instructions.Filter MaintenanceNOTE: It is not necessary to drain the SwimSpa in order to clean the filters.The removable filter cartridges are locatedin the filter canisters inside the skimmer. Thefilters should be inspected/cleaned monthlyduring normal use and more often when spause is heavy.Keep the filter cartridges clean! Clean thefilter cartridges at least once every 30 days.A clogged filter decreases performance anddegrades water quality.To clean the filter cartridge:1. Turn the pump off.2. Remove skimmer lid on top of Swim Spa.3. Remove strainer basket4. Remove filter cartridge from the filtercanister by grasping the top and liftingupwards.5. Soak filter in a commercial filter cleaner/degreaser, available from your MAAX®Spa dealer, per manufacturer’s instructions.Rinse filter cartridge with a hose. Replacewith new cartridge, if needed.6. Place filter cartridge back into filter canister.7. Replace strainer basket and skimmer lid.8. Turn the pump ON.Replacing the filter cartridge semi-annuallyis recommended to maintain optimumperformance. Filter maintenance depends onusage.WinterizingIn cold climates where freezing temperaturesoccur, special care is required to prevent thepossibility of damage to the Swim Spa andassociated equipment due to freezing. If youplan on using your Swim Spa during coldmonths, be sure your pump and heater are ingood working order. The Swim Spa has beeninsulated to provide efficient operation in coldweather areas.NOTE: If you elect not to drain your SwimSpa and the temperature is going to bebelow freezing for extended periods oftime, it is best to operate the heater at themaximum high temperature 104°F (40°C),especially if there is a power outage threat.This will help reduce the likelihood of thewater freezing if you have a power failure.If you do not intend to use your Swim Spaduring the winter months and there is dangerof freezing, use the following steps to winteriseyour Swim Spa:1. Turn off all electrical power to the Swim Spa.2. Drain Swim Spa and hoses of allwater using the directions for Draining YourSwim Spa (pg. 31). Open all unions, andremove drain plugs from bottom of pumps.If you cannot draw off all of the water(especially from hoses), add RecreationalVehicle antifreeze to the remaining waterthrough the bottom of the skimmerand jets. If antifreeze is used, it must bean inhibitor Propylene Glycol such as DowFrost™, available through Dow Chemical®distributors.
