1 Getting Started32 Keysight U8903A User’s GuideInstallation and ConfigurationInitial inspectionWhen you receive your U8903A, inspect the unit for any obvious damage such asbroken terminals or cracks, dents, and scratches on the chassis that may occurduring shipment. If any damage is found, notify the nearest Keysight Sales Officeimmediately.Keep the original packaging in case the U8903A has to be returned to Keysight infuture. If you return the U8903A for service, attach a tag identifying the owner andmodel number. Also include a brief description of the problem.VentilationThe U8903A can operate within the temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C. TheU8903A is cooled by drawing air through the sides and rear and exhausting itthrough the ventilation holes on the top, sides, and rear. The U8903A must beinstalled in a location that allows sufficient space at the top, sides, and rear foradequate air circulation.Rack mountingThe U8903A can be mounted in a standard 19-inch rack. Rack mount kits areavailable as Option 908. Support rails are also required for rack mounting. Theseare normally supplied with the rack and are not included with the rack mountoptions.If you are installing an instrument on top of the U8903A, ensure that theinstrument does not obstruct the ventilation holes at the top side of the U8903A. Ifrequired, use a filler panel above the U8903A to ensure adequate space for aircirculation.
