Quick Start 2Keysight 34970A/34972A Service Guide 41If the Instrument Does Not Turn OnUse the following steps to help solve problems you might encounter when turningon the instrument.1 Verify that there is AC power to the instrument.First, verify that the power cord is firmly plugged into the power receptacle onthe rear panel of the instrument. You should also make sure that the powersource you plugged the instrument into is energized. Then, verify that theinstrument is turned on.The On/Standby switch is located on the lower left side of the front panel.2 Verify the power-line voltage setting.The line voltage is set to the proper value for your country when theinstrument is shipped from the factory. Change the voltage setting if it is notcorrect. The settings are: 100, 120, 220, or 240 VAC.See the next page if you need to change the line voltage setting.3 Verify that the power-line fuse is good.The instrument is shipped from the factory with a 500 mA fuse installed. This isthe correct fuse for all line voltages.See the next page if you need to replace the power-line fuse.NOTE – For 127 VAC operation, use the 120 VAC setting.– For 230 VAC operation, use the 220 VAC setting.NOTE To replace the 500 mAT, 250 V fuse, order Keysight part number 2110-0458.
