6 Service172 Keysight 34970A/34972A Service GuideTypes of Service AvailableIf your instrument or plug-in module fails during the warranty period (within oneyear of original purchase), Keysight will replace the unit free of charge. After yourwarranty expires, Keysight will replace the unit at a competitive price. Thereplacement units are fully refurbished and are shipped with new calibrationcertificates.Keysight Unit ExchangeContact your nearest Keysight Technologies Service Center to arrange to haveyour instrument replaced. In the U.S. call 800-829-4444. Select “Option 3”followed by “Option 1.”When exchanging the 34970A/34972A, do not ship plug-in modules with yourinstrument. Remove all plug-in modules and customer wiring before shipping theunit to Keysight.NOTE Each replacement unit has its own serial number. The serial number of thedefective unit does not transfer to the replacement unit. The warranty period ofthe replacement unit is based on the remaining warranty of the defective34970A/34972A.NOTE Keysight Unit Exchange applies to the 34970A/34972A mainframe only. Plug-inmodules are not supported as exchange assemblies.NOTE The defective unit must be returned to Keysight before the replacement unit isshipped to you. Additional information regarding unit exchange will be providedwhen you contact Keysight.
