The controller is not a general-purpose PC and care should be takenif additional software is to be installed on it. Changes to the configuration may affect theperformance of the spectrometer.User Accounts. There are two user accounts, one with system administrator privileges anda second ‘standard’ user. The standard user account starts automatically and is the defaultaccount for the Keit Spectrometer Application. The system administrator account is providedso that the end user can change the operating system configuration or install additionalsoftware if that is required.Windows Updates. This is disabled by default. It is for the local administrator to choosewhen to update the operating system. A strategy will be required to manage updatesparticularly if the controller is networked.Anti-virus. There is no anti-virus installed. The controller should only be connected to internal,protected networks. The end-user may install their own anti-virus as required.BIOS configurationThe BIOS is password protected and booting from USB is disabled by default.Physical detailsParameter / Feature DescriptionDimensions The controller measures 280 x 85 x 192mm and is providedwith optional mounting adaptors to fit a 2u 19” rack.Operating Environment The controller must be operated in a safe, non-explosiveenvironment.• Operating Temperature: 0° to 50°C• Humidity: 5% to 90% at 25°CMonitor Resolution The recommended monitor resolution is 1280 x 1045 pixels orhigher.
