78 EN REMOTE CONTROLRemote Control 1/2/3/4 Code SwitchingThe remote control is capable of controlling four JVC video unitsindependently. Each of the units can respond to one of four codes(1, 2, 3 or 4). The remote control is preset to send 3 code signalsbecause your unit is initially set to respond to 3 code signals. Youcan easily modify your unit to respond to 1, 2 or 4 code signals.● Keep pressing SET UP down during step 1.1 Press the number key “1” for 1, “2” for 2, “3” for 3 or “4” for 4to change the remote control code, then press ENTER.2 Press 1 on the unit to turn off the unit.3 Press 4 on the unit for over 5 seconds while the unit is turnedoff. The code currently set appears on the front display panel.4 Press 8 on the remote control to change the unit’s code. Thecode currently set on the remote control blinks on the front displaypanel for approximately 5 seconds, and is applied to the unit.NOTE:When “POWER SAVE” is set to “ON” ( pg. 83), it is not possible tochange the remote code.TV Multi-Brand Remote ControlYour remote control can operate the basic functions of your TV set.In addition to JVC TVs, other manufacturer’s TVs can also becontrolled.IMPORTANT:Although the provided remote control unit is compatible with JVCtelevisions, as well as many other models, it may not work with yourTV, or in some instances, may have limited function capability.● Keep pressing SET UP down during step 1.1 Enter your TV’s brand code using the number keys, then pressENTER.2 Press 1 on the unit’s remote control to turn on the TV and tryoperations ( step 3).● Once you have set the remote control to operate the TV, you do nothave to repeat this step until you replace your remote control’sbatteries.● Some brands of TVs have more than one code.
