90Ethernet port failureSymptomUnshielded twisted pairs connect Ethernet ports and one or both ends of the link supports100Base-TX. One end operates at 100 Mbps and the other end operates at 10 Mbps. The followingfailures occur:• No link is present for the end operating at 100 Mbps.• A link is present for the end operating at 10 Mbps, but the physical layer LED (for example, theActive LED) keeps flashing, and the port cannot transmit or receive traffic correctly.SolutionTo resolve the problem:1. Change the rate and duplex mode of a port by force to make sure the rate and duplex mode ofthe local end are the same as the peer end.For the copper FE ports and GE ports, both the rate and duplex mode are auto-negotiated bydefault.2. If the problem persists, contact H3C Support.Interface module, cable, and connection failureSymptomAfter an HIM/MIM is installed and the router is powered on, the LEDs on the HIM/MIM panel mightindicate abnormal operation.SolutionTo resolve the problem:1. Verify that the HIM/MIM cable is correctly selected.2. Verify that the HIM/MIM cable is correctly connected.3. Use the display command to identify whether the interface on the interface module has beencorrectly configured and is operating correctly.4. If the problem persists, contact H3C Support.Software upgrade failuresNo response from the serial port of the MPUSymptomThe serial port of the MPU gives no response.SolutionTo resolve the problem:1. Verify that the serial port settings are correct (whether the Bits per second field is set to 9600kbps).2. If the problem persists, contact H3C Support. For more information about the serial port settings, see "Setting terminal parameters."
