76 GPSMAP 60CSx Owner’s ManualM AIN MENU >Altimeter SetupThe Altimeter Setup Page allows you to setup thealtimeter to self-calibrate each time you turn onthe unit, to function as a barometer, or to manuallycalibrate when you have accurate elevation orpressure data.To set up the Altimeter:1. On the Setup Menu Page, highlight theAltimeter icon, and press ENTER.2. Highlight the Auto Calibration field, and pressENTER to select from on or off. When on,elevation is corrected by the GPS receiver.3. Highlight the Barometer Mode field, and pressENTER to select Variable Elevation (usedwhen moving) or Fixed Elevation (used whenstationary, allowing the Altimeter to functionas a standard barometer). Trip data is notrecorded when in Fixed Elevation mode.To manually calibrate the Altimeter:1. Highlight the Calibrate Altimeter button, andpress ENTER. You can calibrate the Altimeterusing one of three methods:Enter the correct elevation: this requires areliable source for determining the elevationfor your current location.Enter the correct pressure: this requires areliable source to determine the accuratebarometric pressure at your current location.Altimeter Setup
