You can access thesepages by pressing PAGE to cycle forward through the pages orQUIT to cycle backward until the page you wish is displayed.Each of the main pages has an options menu, allowing you tocustomize the page to your preferences and perform tasks thatspecifically relate to that page. The data window, located at the rightside of the display, provides a user-selectable layout of various typesof useful data. Each data field may be configured to display anyone of several data options. The data window layout may also becustomized to change the actual size of the data displayed.Map PageThe Map page provides a comprehensive display of electroniccartography, plotting, and navigational data. When using the unit withthe optional BlueChart data or MapSource software, the map displayshows your location on a digital chart, complete with geographicnames, map items, navaids, and a host of other chart features. It alsoplots your track and displays any routes and waypoints you create.An on-screen pointer lets you pan and scroll to other map areas,determine the distance and bearing to a position, and perform variousroute and waypoint functions.DataFieldsCurrentLocation Map RangeLandWaterNavaidsUserWaypointMap Page with optional BlueChart Marine data.GeographicNameTwo basic map operating modes, position mode and pan mode,determine what cartography is shown on the map display. Positionmode pans the cartography to keep the present position marker withinthe display area, while pan mode pans the cartography to keep thepointer within the display area. The GPSMAP 176/176C alwayspowers up in the position mode, with the last known location centeredon the map display. When you press the ROCKER, the GPSMAP176/176C enters pan mode.
