GPSMAP 176/176C Owner’s Manual 55M AIN MENU > TRACK TABTrack TabThe Track tab’s multiple features are divided in two tabs: the Activetab and the Saved tab. You can specify whether or not to record atrack log (an electronic bread crumb trail recording of your path),define how it is recorded, or save track log data for future use. TheTrack tab also displays the memory used for the active track log andallows you to clear the track memory or start a TracBack route. Seepages 26-28 for TracBack information.Active TabThe Active tab displays information about the active track log (the logcurrently being recorded). It displays track memory used and currentsettings.Track Menu—Active TabFor the Active tab, the following settings are available:• Record Mode—lets you select one of three track recordingoptions:Off: No track log is recorded. Note that turning recording Offprevents you from using the TracBack feature.Fill: A track log is recorded until the track memory is full.Wrap: A track log is continuously recorded, replacing theoldest track data with new data.• Interval—defines the frequency at which the track is recorded.Three interval settings are available:Distance: Records track based on a user-defined distancebetween points.Time: Records track based on a user-defined time interval.Resolution: Records track based upon a user-defined variancefrom your course over ground. The resolution option is thedefault setting and is recommended for the most efficient useof memory and TracBack performance. The distance value(entered in the value field) is the maximum error allowed fromthe true course before recording a track point.• Value—defines the distance or time used to record the track.• Save—allows you to save the current active track log.• Clear—allows you to clear the active track log.
