GPSMAP 176/176C Owner’s Manual 11BASIC OPERATION > SELECTING MAP ZOOM RANGESSelecting Map Zoom RangesThe map display has 28 available zoom ranges from 20 ft. to 800 mi.(5 m to 1,200 km). The zoom range is controlled by the IN and OUTkeys, with the current range displayed at the bottom right of the datawindow. Press the OUT key to zoom out and the IN key to zoom in.NOTE: The range value represents the distance from one end ofthe range bar to the other.Using BlueChart/MapSource DataUsing Built-In BasemapOverzoom, no additional dataThe GPSMAP 176/176C has a built-in worldwide database. Moredetailed coverage is available through optional BlueChart orMapSource data. The GPSMAP 176/176C displays cartography aslong as chart information is available for the range you select.Map coverage conforms to the following conditions:• When the selected zoom range is covered by either the internaldatabase, BlueChart, or MapSource data, mapping is displayed.• When the selected zoom range is covered by both the internaldatabase and BlueChart/MapSource data, cartography isdisplayed using the data with the best resolution.• When the selected zoom range exceeds the resolution of thedata in use, an Overzoom warning appears below the range.
