Notethat the thumbnail range defaults to 6 NM andcannot be changed.Highlighting Traffic Data Using Map PanningAnother map page function is panning, whichallows you to move the map beyond its current limitswithout adjusting the map scale. When you selectthe panning function—by pressing the small rightknob—a target pointer flashes on the map display. Awindow also appears at the top of the map displayshowing the latitude/longitude position of the pointer,plus the bearing and distance to the pointer from yourpresent position.When the target pointer is placed on traffic,the traffic range and altitude separation aredisplayed.To select the panning function and pan themap display:1. Press the small right knob to activate thepanning target pointer.2. Turn the small right knob clockwise tomove up, or turn it counterclockwise to movedown.3. Turn the large right knob clockwise to moveright, or turn it counterclockwise to move left.4. To cancel the panning function and return toyour present position, press the small rightknob.When the target pointer is placed on traffic, thetraffic range and altitude separation are displayed.
