37LEVELING THE RANGEInstall the oven shelves in the oven and positionthe range where it will be installed.Check for levelness by placing a spirit level ora cup, partially filled with water, on one of theoven shelves. If using a spirit level, take tworeadings—with the level placed diagonallyfirst in one direction and then the other.Remove the kick panel or open the broilercompartment. See the Care and cleaning of therange section. The front leveling legs can beadjusted from the bottom and the rear legs canbe adjusted from the top or the bottom.Use an open-end or adjustable wrench to adjustthe leveling legs until the range is level.After the range is level, slide the range awayfrom the wall so that the Anti-Tip device can beinstalled.EDCBA9Installation InstructionsADJUST BROIL AND OVENBURNER AIR ADJUSTMENTSHUTTERS IF NECESSARY (CONT.)On some models, remove the metal shield atthe rear of the cavity. The air adjustment shutteris behind this shield.To adjust the flow of air to the burner, loosenthe Phillips-head screw and rotate the shutter toallow more or less air into the burner tube.8LeglevelerLowerrangeRaiserange(on some models)Raiserange Lowerrange(on some models)ADJUST BROIL AND OVENBURNER AIR ADJUSTMENTSHUTTERS IF NECESSARYTo determine if the oven/broiler burner flamesare burning properly, first remove the ovenbottom.To remove the oven bottom:Remove knurled screws holding downrear of oven bottom.Grasp oven bottom at finger slots on eachside.Lift rear of oven bottom enough to clearthe lip of range frame, then pull out.With the oven bottom removed,properly adjusted flames should haveapproximately 1″ blue cones and, if rangeis supplied with natural gas, should burnwith no yellow tipping. (With most LP gas,small yellow tips at the end of outer conesare normal.) Flames should not lift offburner ports. If lifting is observed,gradually reduce air shutter opening untilflames are stabilized.The shutter for the oven burner is near theback wall of the oven and behind the kickpanel or broiler compartment (dependingon the model).
