Do not attempt todisassemble or clean around any burnerwhile another burner is on. An electricshock may result, which could cause youto knock over hot cookware.Push the control knob in and turn itto the LITE position.Using the gas surface burners.Before Lighting a Gas Burner After Lighting a Gas Burner Make sure all burners are in place. Make sure all grates (and the centergriddle, if it is going to be used) on therange are properly placed before usingany burner. Do not operate the burner for anextended period of time withoutcookware on the grate. The finish onthe grate may chip without cookwareto absorb the heat. Be sure the burners, griddle and gratesare cool before you place your hand, apot holder, cleaning cloths or othermaterials on them.Surface Burner ControlsKnobs that turn the surface burners on andoff are marked as to which burners theycontrol. The two knobs on the left controlthe left front and left rear burners. The twoknobs on the right control the right frontand right rear burners. The center left knobcontrols the center oval burner.The center oval burner is the largest in sizeand is for large oval pots/pans, roundpots/pans 10″ or greater in diameter orwith the griddle.The side burners are all the same sizeand power.How to Select Flame SizeFor safe handling of cookware, never let the flamesextend up the sides of the cookware.Watch the flame, not the knob, as youreduce heat. When fast heating is desired,the flame size on a gas burner shouldmatch the cookware you are using.Flames larger than the bottom of thecookware will not result in faster heatingof the cookware and could be hazardous.Use only large oval pots/pans, roundpots/pans 10″ or greater in diameter orthe griddle on the center burner.
