DeckLevelingNOTE:Checkthetractor'stirepressurebeforeperforminganydecklevelingadjustments.RefertoTiresforinformationregardingtirepressure.Shutthe engine off, removethe ignitionkeyandengagethe parkingbrakebeforemaking adjustments.Protectyour handsby usingheavygloveswhen handlingthe blades.Levelingthe Deck(Side-to-side)NOTE:Checkthe tractor'stire pressurebeforeperforminganydecklevelingadjustments.Referto Tiresfor informationregardingtire pressure.Alwayslevelthedeckside-to-sidebeforefront to rear.If the cuttingdeckappearsto bemowingunevenly,aside-to-sideadjustmentcanbeperformed.Adjustif necessaryasfollows:1. Withthe tractorparkedon afirm, levelsurface,placethe decklift handleinamiddlemowingpositionandrotatebothoutsidebladessothatthey areperpendicularwith the tractor.2. Measurethedistancefromthe outsideof the left bladetipto thegroundandthedistancefromtheoutsideof therightbladetip to theground.Bothmeasurementstakenshouldbeequal.Ifthey'renot,proceedto the nextstep.3. Loosen,but do NOTremove,the hexbolton the rearleft deckhangerlink.SeeFigure27.Adjustment Gear\HexBolt4.5.Figure27NOTE:Therearrightdeckhangerlinkis not adjustableandis usedto helpadjustthe otherhangerlinks.Usingawrench,raiseor lowerthe left sideof the deckbyturningtheadjustmentgear.SeeFigure27.Thedeckisproperlyleveledwhen bothbladetip measurementsareequal.Retightenthe hexbolt onthe front left deckhangerbracketwhenproperadjustmentisachieved.Levelingthe Deck(Front-to-Back)NOTE:Checkthe tractor'stire pressurebeforeperforminganydecklevelingadjustments.Referto Tiresonpage22for informationregardingtire pressure.Alwayslevelthe deckside-to-sidebeforefront to rear.Thefront of the deckshouldbe between1/4-3/8"lowerthanthe rearofthe deck.Adjustif necessaryasfollows:1. Parkthe tractoron afirm, levelsurfaceandplacethe decklift handlein amiddleposition.2. Rotatethe bladenearestthe dischargechutesothat it isparallelwith thetractor.Measurethe distancefromthe front of the bladetip to thegroundandtherearof the bladetip to theground.Thefirst measurementtakenshouldbebetween1/4"and3/8"lessthanthe secondmeasurement.4. Determinethe approximatedistancenecessaryforproperadjustmentandproceed,if necessary.5. Usingawrench,raiseor lowerthe front of deckbyturninglocknut onthefront decklift rod.SeeFigure28.k.Figure 28Thedeckis properlyleveledwhenthe front tip of the bladeis1/4"lowerthanthe reartip. Retightenthe hexbolt onthe left reardeckhangerlinkswhenproperadjustmentisachieved.24
